Our First Online Joint Meeting — Sharing Autumn in Tokyo and Tottori!
(We sincerely apologize for the very late blog update.)
Although the summer heat was still lingering in Tottori, we held a special online joint meeting with Tokyo ESS Toastmasters Club.
This was the first time in the history of Tottori Toastmasters Club that we had organized an online joint meeting with another Toastmasters club. Planning began shortly after the national conference in April, and there were many new challenges along the way—not only in designing the meeting program, but also in figuring out how to set up the necessary equipment at the venue. We were therefore relieved and delighted that the meeting went smoothly without any major technical issues and that everyone was able to enjoy the event.
The joint session began with introductions to each club by the two club presidents. This was followed by a demonstration of a contest speech by a Tottori member who competed in this year’s District Contest.
Next came a joint Table Topics session featuring members from both clubs, with “autumn” as the theme. We heard about autumn in Tokyo and autumn in Tottori, and it was fascinating to discover how the ways we enjoy the season can differ depending on where we live. It was a lively and engaging session that truly highlighted the joy of connecting with members from another club.
After the joint session, Tottori Toastmasters continued with our regular meeting and held a Prepared Speeches session. Two speakers delivered creative and entertaining speeches.
We were also delighted to welcome two new members as well as three guests, making the meeting feel especially fresh and full of new energy.
We would like to thank everyone from Tokyo ESS Toastmasters Club, as well as all the members and guests who joined us, for making our very first online joint meeting such a memorable one!
