Sharing Diverse Learnings in a Distinctive Venue. Even the After-Party Pizza Was Distinctive!

The September meeting of Tottori Toastmasters Club was held at MiKK in Sekigane, a member’s home that also serves as an international exchange facility. This American-style house, nestled in the lush mountains, was astonishingly built by hand as a DIY project—a fact that never fails to amaze.

We welcomed three guests, and the meeting proceeded in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The three prepared speeches shared personal struggles, life lessons, humor, and wit, creating a truly enriching learning experience. During the Table Topics session, members and guests took on the challenge of impromptu speeches with the theme of “emotions,” making it a lively and engaging segment.

After the meeting, we held an after-party right at the venue. Everyone added their own toppings, baked pizzas in the outdoor stone oven, and enjoyed hot, freshly made pizza together—an unforgettable time of fellowship and connection.

The meeting at MiKK was a big success, with many participants saying, “Let’s do this again!” It was a day that inspired us to plan another special meeting in the future. Truly, it may have been a meeting only possible in Tottori.

Distinctiveな会場で多彩な学びを共有。アフターパーティーのピッツァもまたDistinctive!

鳥取トーストマスターズクラブの9月例会は、会員の自宅であり国際交流施設でもある関金のMiKKで開催されました。自然豊かな山の中に建つアメリカンハウスは、なんとDIYで建てられたものだそうで、思わず驚きを隠せません。

例会には3名のゲストをお迎えし、温かな雰囲気の中で進行しました。3名の準備スピーカーによるスピーチは、それぞれの人生における苦労や気づきをユーモアやウィットを交えて語られ、学びの多い時間となりました。テーブルトピックスでは「感情」をテーマに即興スピーチに挑戦し、ゲストの皆さんにもご参加いただくなど、大いに盛り上がりました。

例会の後は、同じ会場でアフターパーティーを開催。みんなでトッピングをして庭のピザ窯で焼き上げたアツアツの出来立てピッツァを頬張りながら、親睦を深めるかけがえのないひとときを過ごしました。

MiKKでの例会は大変好評で、「またやりたい！」という声が多数寄せられました。時期を見て、また特別な例会を企画したいと思わせる一日でした。まさに、鳥取ならではの例会といえるかもしれません。
