A Serendipitous Final Meeting of the Toastmasters Year!

Our June meeting marked the final meeting of the Toastmasters year, and it turned out to be a truly serendipitous occasion.

We were honored to welcome Division Director and the other three guests. During the meeting, members enjoyed a variety of prepared speeches, including reflections on cultural differences between Japan and the United States, a humorous story about receiving excellent bone density results at a health check-up, and a heartfelt toast celebrating the journey of Tottori Toastmasters and its future.

The Table Topics session invited participants to speak about travel experiences. One of our guests, who is a high school student, bravely joined the session and impressed everyone with her speech, earning the Best Table Topics Speaker Award. Congratulations!

We also held our Installation Ceremony, where outgoing officers were recognized for their service and incoming officers pledged to support the club in the coming year. Incoming President encouraged members to focus on becoming better than they were yesterday and to continue growing together as a club.

The meeting concluded with warm comments from our guests. Two guests expressed their intention to join the club, and several others shared how impressed they were by the welcoming atmosphere and inspiring speeches.

With new members expected to join in July and more potential members showing interest, this meeting truly embodied the spirit of serendipity. We hope that the experience was as meaningful for our guests as it was for our members, and we look forward to another exciting Toastmasters year ahead.

Serendipityに満ちた年度最後の例会！

6月例会は、トーストマスターズ年度最後の例会として開催され、まさに「Serendipity（思いがけない幸運な出会い）」を感じるひとときとなりました。

当日は、ディビジョン・ディレクターと他に3名のゲストをお迎えしました。準備スピーチでは、日本とアメリカの文化の違いについての考察、健康診断で骨密度が非常に良い結果だったというユーモアあふれるエピソード、そして鳥取トーストマスターズクラブの歩みと未来を祝う心温まる乾杯のスピーチなど、多彩なテーマが披露されました。

テーブルトピックスセッションでは、「旅」をテーマに参加者が即興スピーチに挑戦しました。その中で、高校生のゲストが勇気を持って参加し、見事なスピーチで会場を魅了。ベストテーブルトピックス賞を受賞しました。おめでとうございます！

また、インストレーションセレモニー（役員就任式）も行われました。退任役員にはこれまでの貢献への感謝が贈られ、新役員は次年度のクラブ運営を支える決意を表明しました。新会長は、「昨日の自分より少しでも成長すること」を目標に、クラブ全体で共に成長していこうとメンバーへ呼びかけました。

例会の最後には、ゲストの皆さまから温かいコメントをいただきました。お二人のゲストからは入会の意思が示され、他のゲストの方々からも、クラブの温かい雰囲気や刺激的なスピーチに感銘を受けたという感想が寄せられました。

7月には新たな仲間を迎える予定であり、さらに今後も新しい出会いが期待されています。今回の例会は、まさに「Serendipity」の精神を体現するような時間となりました。この経験がゲストの皆さまにとっても、私たち会員にとっても意義深いものとなったことを願うとともに、新たなトーストマスターズ年度への期待を胸に、これからも歩んでいきたいと思います。
